Unclaimed Property

Have your funds been turned over to the State?

Do you remember the last time you made a transaction on your account at HTFFFCU? If it has been more than 3 years, you may have a costly problem on your hands. Accounts are considered abandoned after 3 years of inactivity. And contrary to popular belief, monthly dividends posting to your account do not count as transactions. State law requires us to report and remit the funds to the state if we have not had member-generated activity with you for a specified period of time.

Below is some information taken from the Texas Comptroller's website:

Reclaiming Your Property

How do I find out if I have unclaimed property?

Click on " Get Started"; follow the directions and provide all requested information. If you prefer to call or write, you need to provide the owner's name, all previous and current Texas addresses, and a taxpayer identification number or social security number. If a search of our database results in any matches between the information you provide and data reported to us, possible ownership is indicated and we will mail a claim form to you.
