Here at HTFFFCU, we believe that education is essential to success. This is why every year six dedicated and aspiring students are chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Credit Union. We know that higher education in today's world can go a long way and that every little bit counts! We are pleased to announce that the following six students have each been awarded a scholarship this year as part of our annual HTFFFCU scholarship program.
Tyra is a 2018 Graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugarland, TX. Tyra is planning to attend Prairie View A&M University in the fall, where she will be majoring in Biology Pre-Med. Tyra is a Memorial Hermann Sugarland volunteer and a member of the Youth Expanding Services (YES) Program. In her free time, she plays on a volleyball team.
Tyra's fun fact: She likes to do makeup and help others feel good about themselves.
AnnaPaola is an aspiring Chemistry major who is currently studying at Lone Star College. AnnaPoala is not only an excellent full-time student with a 3.66 GPA, but also a Swim Instructor and a Lifeguard.
AnnaPaola's fun fact: If she could binge watch something this weekend, it would be the news or the criminal investigation channel.
Madison is a 2018 graduate of Robert Turner College and Career High School in Pearland, TX. In the fall, she is planning to attend community college where she will pursue a degree in Business. At the moment, she is learning important business skills by serving as a Cosmetology Club Officer. Madison is also a SkillsUSA Participant.
Madison's fun fact: She believes she could last three years without her cell phone.
Joel is an aspiring Biblical and Theological Studies major at Boyce College in Louisville, KY. Some of Joel's greatest achievements include graduating high school with 28 college credits and a 3.62 college GPA, making Dean's List his first semester of college and being a part of Student Council.
Joel's fun fact: He could eat a nice, medium rare steak everyday and never get tired of it.
Charee is an aspiring Physical Therapist who is majoring in Kinesiology at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. Some of her greatest accomplishments include making Dean's List and President's List in 2017 while holding a position as a Resident Advisor. Charee is also a member of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries.
Charee's fun fact: She is a third-degree black belt.
Regan is a 2018 graduate of Lamar High School in Houston, TX (and a member of its National Honor Society), who is planning to obtain a degree in Civil Engineering. Regan received the Presidential Volunteer Silver Service Award in 2017 to recognize her outstanding volunteer work. She has also received a Girl Scouts Gold Award.
Regan's fun fact: Her favorite TV show is Scandal.
