Protect Your Station Accounts
Did you know that fire station accounts may be subject to levy by the IRS, state comptroller’s office or other governmental agency?
Pursuant to 26 U.S.C. § 6332 credit unions must surrender any property, subject to levy, upon demand by the IRS. This may occur when a signor on a fire station account is subject to a levy which is presented to the credit union.
